TAKOMA PARK, MD - In front of a roaring home-opening crowd, the WAU men's soccer team (3-0, 0-0) put on a showstopping performance as they cruised to a sensational 16-0 victory over Christendom College (0-2, 0-0) on August 29, 2023. This dominating display showcased the team's formidable skills and unwavering determination, leaving no doubt that they are a force to be reckoned with this season.

The Shock showcased their prowess on the field from the opening whistle, leaving the fans in awe. Every pass was precise, every movement calculated, as they swiftly took control of the match. Their cohesive teamwork was a sight to behold, seamlessly combining individual talent with effective strategies to overpower the Royals.

The crowd erupted in cheers as the Shock wasted no time finding the back of the net. WAU bombarded Christendom College's defense throughout the match with a relentless attacking style. The scoreline began to multiply as goal after goal found its mark.

The match was not only defined by the team's overall success but also by the stellar performances of several individual players. The current CAC offensive player of the week, George Tidmarsh, and fellow freshman Ben Cooksley had a remarkable game, bagging an incredible six goals. Not to be overshadowed, freshman Aidan Hidassy played a pivotal role in orchestrating the team's attacks. Freshman Bartu Yakkan also recorded a pair of goals on the night.

Goalkeeper Gregorio Capponi played a vital role in keeping a clean sheet, showcasing his shot-stopping abilities with a series of impressive saves.
