
WAU’s Bethany Fowler Named CAC Defensive Player of the Week
TAKOMA PARK, MD – Washington Adventist University forward Bethany Fowler has been named the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, recognizing her pivotal role in the Shock's two victories last week. Fowler's defensive prowess was on full display, as she averaged 10 points, six rebounds, and six steals per game.
The Mount Airy, Maryland, native was a defensive force in WAU's 77-69 win over Morris College on Friday. She recorded nine steals, grabbed five rebounds, and chipped in 11 points, providing a well-rounded performance that helped the Shock secure the victory.
Fowler continued her strong play on Saturday during WAU's 80-73 overtime triumph against Spartanburg Methodist. She added seven rebounds, three steals, and critical defensive stops in key moments to help her team prevail in a hard-fought battle.
Fowler's contributions on both ends of the court highlight her importance to the Shock's success. Her ability to disrupt opponents' offenses and deliver timely scoring has made her an indispensable asset for WAU, as the team continues its push for a strong finish to the season.
