WAU Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Trinity Washington 3-0
Washington, DC – The Washington Adventist University (WAU) women's volleyball team earned a commanding 3-0 victory over Trinity Washington University on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in Washington, DC. The Shock controlled the match from the outset, securing the win with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-12.
WAU came out strong in the first set, establishing an early lead behind powerful serves and sharp attacks from Lynell White, who led the offensive charge. The Shock's solid defensive play, led by Candace Kapualani Cabansag, kept Trinity Washington's offense in check as they cruised to a 25-16 victory.
The second set saw more balanced play from both teams, but WAU's consistency and effective net play allowed them to pull away for a 25-17 win. Jordyn Stafford provided excellent ball distribution, keeping the offense in rhythm and setting up key plays.
In the final set, WAU's momentum carried them to a dominant 25-12 win. Ashley Green was a force at the net with multiple blocks, while sisters Samiah and Ariyanna Gross sealed the match with several powerful kills.
With the win, WAU improved their season record to 4-3, 0-0, bouncing back strongly after recent challenges.
The Shock will look to build on this victory in their next matchup against Christendom on Wednesday, September 25 in Takoma Park, MD.
